The Québec Public Interest Research Group at Concordia (QPIRG Concordia) is a resource centre for student and community research and organizing. We strive to raise awareness and support grassroots activism around diverse social and environmental issues. Our work is rooted in an anti-oppression analysis and practice. We seek to make campus-community links and inspire social change through engaging, inclusive, and non-hierarchical approaches. Our core projects include the DisOrientation alternative orientation series each fall, our Alternative Library and our the Grassroots Resistance Poster Archive. We also offer discretionary funding, summer project stipends, ASL 101 classes, free printing and more!
We also produce various publications including Convergence, a journal of undergraduate and community research, and the School Schmool radical agenda. Importantly, we support over forty working groups that organize on a wide variety of social justice issues.
In essence, QPIRG Concordia is a campus-community link for social change. Both students and community members are welcome to make use of our space and resources, and participate in our projects. We believe in the power of collective organizing to achieve social justice!
